You Suffer Because You Do Not Know Who You Are

In ancient times, there was a young monk named Liang who spent many years meditating and studying under the guidance of his master. Despite his diligent practice, Liang could not seem to find the inner peace and enlightenment he sought.

One day, Liang approached his master and asked, "Master, I have spent many years searching for myself, but I cannot seem to find the true nature of my being. What am I doing wrong?"

The master smiled and replied, "My dear Liang, you have been searching in the wrong direction. The key to true self-discovery is not to find yourself, but to lose yourself."

Liang was puzzled and asked, "How can I lose myself, Master?"

The master answered, "By letting go of your attachment to the self. When you can free yourself from the ego and the desire for self-preservation, you will discover the true nature of your being."

Liang nodded and thanked the master for his wisdom. From that day on, he dedicated himself to the practice of losing himself. He let go of his attachment to the self and the desire for enlightenment, and in doing so, he found the peace and enlightenment he had been seeking all along.

The other monks marveled at Liang's newfound wisdom, and asked him how he had achieved it. Liang replied simply, "I lost myself, and in losing myself, I found my true nature."
